At AeroGuard our courses give you 7 FAA ratings and certifications to become a pilot and instructor. From a Private Pilot License to a Certified Instructor of Multi-Engine aircrafts in as little as 8 to 10 months you are able to begin a career as a professional pilot. We give you information on our 7 FAA ratings and certifications below.
1. Â Private Pilot License
The first step in becoming a pilot is learning and becoming certified to fly. The Private Pilot License is the first certification you will receive at AeroGuard Flight School. This license is the foundation to every pilot’s career. Having your Private Pilot License – sometimes called a PPL – allows you to be a pilot-in-command (PIC) under clear weather conditions.
During AeroGuard training for your Private Pilot License you will learn to fly the Piper Archer from our fleet of aircraft. You will be able to learn how to control the aircraft, traffic patterns, and maneuvering. Within a short amount of time you will be able to safely navigate the aircrafts and fly through the skies.
2. Â Â Instrument Rating
After completing your Private Pilot License the next step is learning how to fly in imperfect weather conditions. Using the Piper Archer again you will weave your way through clouds and low-visibility skies. Learning how to fly in imperfect weather allows you to experience the happiness of flying with no visibility of the ground to breaking out of the clouds and finding the runway exactly where you expect it to be. After completing this course you will have gained your Instrument Rating, allowing you to fly under instrument flight rules (IFR). This is an essential certification to be used in your everyday professional career.
3. Â Commercial Pilot Single-Engine
An intense and fun challenge, your first commercial course will allow you to polish your flight skills. During this phase you will begin to learn the reality of being a professional pilot in a single-engine plane. Once you have completed this course you will exceed the minimum requirements set by the FAA and be certified to operate a single-engine plane. You will also earn the Commercial Pilot Airplane Single-Engine Land Rating. This FAA rating moves you from a Private Pilot to a Professional Pilot. At AeroGuard we move you from your first step as a Private Pilot to a much larger professional step.
4. Â Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
Once you have completed your certificate to be a Commercial Pilot Single-Engine you are on the path to become a certified flight instructor (CFI). One of the best ways to show that you fully understand what you are doing is by teaching it to someone else. By becoming a flight instructor you prove yourself by teaching the entire spectrum of flying.
Throughout this time you will demonstrate your level of understanding of aviation and its operations by educating other AeroGuard students. Once you have completed this course you will then be able to fully instruct students to fly a single-engine plane under Visual Flight Rules (VFR).
5. Â Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII)
This is your time to shine and show your understanding of the Instrument Flight Rules (IFR). The next step after becoming a CFI you are now helping other students understand aircraft instruments. While you won’t be sitting in the pilot’s seat you will be directing students in their learning. After completing your CFII you are able to teach students how to properly use different flight instruments. During this time you help someone achieve their dreams of becoming a pilot similar to you!
6. Â Commercial Pilot Multi-Engine
The final step in becoming a commercial pilot by learning to operate a multi-engine plane. This course allows you to do an add-on license to your Commercial Pilot Single-Engine certificate – which you have already received. Learning all of the skills you need for a multi-engine you will be training in our fleet of Piper Seminole planes. After a few months of training you will be amazed at your own skills and knowledge in aviation.
7. Â Certified Flight Instructor Multi-Engine (MEI)
AeroGuard teaches you to be an instructor from your first day of training. You will be taught to think and act like an instructor in all aspects. By this point you will have developed all of the skills you need to become a Certified Flight Instructor – Multi-Engine. You will have confidence and skill in flying multi-engine aircraft and will now be able to instruct a student from the passenger seat for Multi-Engine planes.
Once you have completed your instructor certification you will be teaching students how to fly Multi-Engine planes. You will now also be certified to start your Paid Pilot Internship with AeroGuard. After completing your MEI course you’ll start working with students in the same way your instructors worked with you!
